Privacy Policy

mymaritime.life is a pilot tool for maritime academy cadets, academy staff and credentialed mariners. It is not affiliated with any academy, the U.S. Coast Guard or the National Maritime Center. This policy explains what we collect and why. See also our Terms of Use.

What we collect

• Account details: email, password (stored hashed by our auth provider), name, academy and role.
• Cadet details you enter: class/stage, degree, concentration, Maritime ID, room/unit, date of birth, hometown, sports and clubs.
• Records created while using the tools: sea days, exam practice, courses, credentials, messages and feedback.

Two kinds of data

Directory and profile visibility (optional). Your public cadet card — name, academy, class, major, concentration, unit, leader badge, sports and clubs — can be seen by other signed-in cadets for peer discovery. You can hide yourself anytime in Settings → Privacy & data ("Show me in the cadet directory"). Mariners control a separate, name-only directory opt-in. Emails, phone, DOB, IDs, room and hometown are never on the public card.

Education and regiment records (operational). Rosters, formation attendance, demerits and conduct status, special liberty requests, sea days and credentials are needed to run the academy tools. They are visible only to you and to people in your chain of command or verified staff/admins who need them. Hiding yourself from the directory does not remove these records from authorized staff.

Subprocessors

• Supabase — authentication, database and file storage.
• Lovable — application hosting and build platform.
• Email delivery — account and notification emails are sent from notify.mymaritime.life through our hosting platform's email service.

We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. You can export your data or request deletion from Settings → Privacy & data; deletion requests are processed by a person during the pilot. Regiment and conduct records may be retained for academy operational or compliance needs during the pilot even after an account deletion request.

Your choices

• Edit your profile in Settings.
• Hide yourself from the cadet directory.
• Download a copy of your own data (JSON).
• Request account deletion.
